Welcome!

The CML Greens are hard at work to uphold the core values of the Global Greens, while promoting and supporting  Green Values in our local community. It is our mission, goal, and vision, to elect a Member of Parliament to represent us in Ottawa.

Introducing our Candidate for the 2025 Federal Election

Kathy Code

We are excited for Kathy’s Campaign! Her Campaign Launch will be on March 17 at The Hub at Cowichan Station. Find all the details here… Kathy’s Campaign Launch

Kathy has a lifetime of public service throughout her provincial government career and as a Board member for numerous non-profit agencies.  In 2017, she retired as an economic development policy analyst and has been pleased to use her communications, strategic thinking, policy and program development skills on behalf of her community.  She was part of the team that saved Wildwood Ecoforest, keeping it in the public domain in perpetuity, and she then went on to co-manage the Homestead restoration.  She took on a prominent role at Fairy Creek, where she set up the injunction legal team, engaged in media relations and often served as spokesperson.  With her educational background in political science, psychology, criminology and environmental management, she has the depth of knowledge, experience and skills to navigate government and make life better and more affordable for constituents and Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

Meet Kathy in her own words to learn about her experience, the things she stands for and where her passions lie… A Personal Note from Kathy

Greens are progressive, forward-thinking, grassroots people who seek collaboration and consensus, rather than competition.

Committed, conscientious, caring, and compassionate, we uphold the six core values of the charter of the Global Greens:

  • We believe in respect for biodiversity and social justice so that everyone can be healthy and happy. Greens care about the environments in which they live and want to pass on a healthy planet to future generations. We value ecological wisdom and strive to ensure the sustainability of our environment. We believe that non-violence and participatory democracy are essential for building a better future together. We base our member-developed policies on evidence-based science, and each year we carefully put forward Green Policy Proposals to address the concerns that are most important to us all, including:

  • Affordable Housing
  • Climate Action
  • Fair Taxation
  • More Health Care
  • Green Economy
  • Caring for Canadians
  • Strong Democracy
  • Stop the Hate
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Disability Justice
  • Indigenous Reconciliation
  • Peace & Security

Huy’ ch pq’u / Tl’ekoo / HÍSW̱ḴE  / Thank you
Thank you, in the languages of Hwul’qumi’num, Ditiidaht, and Sencoten. These languages have been spoken by the First Nations people who have been living in the lands which make up our Electoral District of Cowichan-Malahat-Langford. This has been their home  for time immemorial. We are settlers in these lands, and we walk here with humility, respect and gratitude.

“Democracy is too important to be left to politicians.”
– Elizabeth May, former Leader of the Green Party of Canada
